Kajuji Tsuneoki (勧修寺経興)
Tsuneoki KAJUJI (1396-April 29, 1437) was a court noble, or Kugyo (the top court official), in the Muromachi period.
He was the fifth family head of the Kajuji family which was Tosho-ke (the hereditary lineage of court nobles occupying relatively high ranks), and the main branch of Kanroji of the Takafuji group of the Northern House of the Fujiwara clan, an important noble family.
Career
He was a child of Gon Dainagon (provisional chief councilor of state) Tsunetoyo KAJUJI. His mother was the daughter of Shonii (Senior Second Rank) Takafuyu SHIJO.
His younger brother, Sangi (councilor) Tsunenao KAJUJI, was also his adopted son. His biological children were Jun-daijin (Vice Minister) Norihide KAJUJI, Gon Chunagon (provisional vice-councilor of state) Tsunehiro KAJUJI and the wife of 阿野公熈, Gon Chunagon.
On February 3, 1420, he attained the position of Sangi.
The most senior rank and position he achieved was Junii (Junior Second Rank) Gon Chunagon.
He served as buke tenso (liaison officer between the imperial court and the military government).
